Introduction: In our earlier studies, we discovered that a person can be a
follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, without ever becoming a disciple. As you read
the scriptures, you find that Jesus never begged anyone to follow Him, He simply
offered the invitation and stated the standards.
In this study, we examine further truths concerning our walk with Jesus, His
mission to earth, and His commission to us.
I. Read Luke 19:10
1. In your own words, explain your understanding of Luke 19:10 as to the reason
Jesus came to earth.
II. Referencing the passages for this weeks lesson, answer the following as
required.
1. How does the one who made a great supper relate to the mission of Christ to
earth? (See also Revelation 19:7 - 9).
2. How does the fact that the one who made a great supper bade many to come
relate to the mission of Christ Jesus to earth?
3. How is the excuse of the one depicted in Luke 14:18 shallow and without
merit?
4. How is the excuse of the one depicted in Luke 14:19 shallow and without

5. In your opinion, was the excuse given in Luke 14:20 valid or invalid? Explain

he heard that his invitation had been rejected?
