Jesus Christ - The Early Years - Part 2

1. A wedding, a festive occasion was being held, and Mary, the mother of Jesus has been invited, indicating she is either (1) a relative, or (2) a
close friend of the family hosting the wedding festivities.

2. That both Jesus and His disciples were invited would indicate that the host was either friends of, or a relative of the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. Mary must have had some connection with the family or she most likely would not have involved herself in the affairs of the wedding by
mentioning that they had no wine.

4. Mary, in pointing out the lack of wine to Jesus, knowing that He would most likely solve the problem, acted as an intercessor, in order to save
    the host any embarrassment.

5. The fact that Jesus refers to His mother as woman carries no sense of disrespect. He was God in the flesh, and as such would never violate on
of His own commandments. Please note that He also referred to Mary Magdalene as woman on the morning of His resurrection.

6. Mary had complete confidence in Jesus to meet the social need at the wedding.

7. We too can have the same confidence in Him, that He is sufficient to every need of our lives, in every situation, in every circumstance.

8. We simply cannot be sure at what point in time the water turned into wine because the scripture does not make it clear. Where scripture does
    not speak, we cannot speak.

    (1) Where the Bible remains silent, we would do well to remain silent.

    (2) With respect to question 8, we do not know when the water turned into wine. With respect to 8 (1) the bible is silent on the issue, however,
we can learn from this lesson. Christ is sufficient to meet every need, and, obedience to His word will always produce those results that are
for our eternal good and Gods eternal glory.

9. At times the Lord reveals Himself to the least of us. The servants understood how the water was turned to wine. At the Tomb, Jesus did not
reveal Himself to the Apostles, but waited until they had left the tomb, then He revealed Himself to Mary Magdalene out of whom He had cast
    seven demons.

10. The one in charge of the feast acknowledged that the water that had been turned into wine was the best wine furnished to the wedding guests.
When Christ meets the need, He does it in a most wonderful way.

11. The new wine that Christ furnished at the wedding was better than the old wine that had been provided. Likewise, the New Covenant of Grace,
far exceeds the Old Covenant of Law.

12. No doubt, Mary and the disciples knew how the water was turned into wine, and the servants knew. Those who are closely associated with
Jesus, and those who are willing to obey Him will know the truth!
