Answer Key
"Eternal Security"
1. The two requirements to enter
the Kingdom of God.
(1) "Be Born of Water" - some think
this means baptism, others think it means natural child
birth. Our position is it is natural child birth, for then one must be:
(2) "Born
of the Spirit" - believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, and by faith receive
Him
into the heart and life.
2. In John 3:7 Jesus states
emphatically that in order to enter the Kingdom of God, one must be
"Born Again".
3. John 3:16 paraphased: "God in
His love, mercy and grace, provided His Son, Jesus, as a
sacrifice for sin for any and for all who would believe in Him and receive Him as
Savior. Those
receiving Christ
Jesus will not suffer eternal punishment in hell but rather, will inherit eternal life in heaven.
4.
John 1:12 describes those who believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him as their
Savior as
"sons of God".
5. Romans 8:15 states in part that we (as Believers)
"...have not received the spirit of
bondage
again to fear, but ye have received the
Spirit of
Adoption,
whereby we cry Abba Father.
6.
Romans 8:16 teaches us that the Holy Spirit will bear witness with the Believer
that they are
the Children of God.
7. Romans 8:17 describes us as:
(1) "Children" (teknon in the Greek) meaning - son, daughter,
offspring.
(2)
"Heirs" - one who receives his allotted possession by sonship.
(3) "Joint Heirs" - a joint participation in the inheritance.
8. You were to define each of the following:
(1) As a Believer, as a child, you are a young member of the
family of God.
(2)
As an heir, the Believer is one who receives their alloted possession by
sonship.
(3) As
"joint heir" the Believer is a joint participant in the inheritance with Jesus.
9. The "Adoption Price" for you as a Believer was the
death of Christ on the Cross.
10. The Believer, as an
"adoptive child" can say: "I am a partaker of the Divine Nature and I
have been made the righteouness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor 5:21). My
sins have been
forgiven, put to
death in Jesus Christ, my past is forgotten. (Psalms 103:12) I have been
justified, (just as if I had never sinned). I am assured of eternal life
in the future and a
recipient of
God's love, mercy, grace, provision and protection - now!
11.
Romans 8:1 paraphrased: "Those who are in Christ Jesus by virtue of having
been "Born
Again", who as a result
of the "New Birth" walk (live) not in the flesh, but walk, (live) in
the Spirit and are under no condemnation at all".
12. I
John 3:9 paraphrased: "Those who have been "Born Again" cannot and will not go
on in
a known lifestyle of sin and
rebellion against God.
13. Romans 8:34-39 lists
seventeen things that can never separate the Believer from the love
of God. They are:
(1) Tribulation -
(2) Distress -
(3) Persecution -
(4)
Famine -
(5) Nakedness -
(6)
Peril -
(7) Sword -
(8) Death -
(9) Life -
(10) Angels -
(11) Principalities -
(12) Powers -
(13) Things present -
(14) Things to come -
(15) Height -
(16)
Depth -
(17) Any other creature.
14. In 2 Timothy 1:12, Paul understands the reason for
his suffering but was also confident that
Christ Jesus would keep him and all that he had
committed to Christ Jesus against the day of
judgement.
15.
Philippians 1:6 assures us that it was God that initiated the work of salvation
in the life of
the
Believer - and will see to its continuance and completion in the life of the
Believer until
Christ
returns - that is - forever!
16. Php 2:13
assures us that it is God who creates in the Believer - the will to do His will
- and
will then empower the
Believer to do His will.
17.
Isaiah 1:18 reveals that God wants me to communicate with Him.
He wants me to confess
my sin in
an ongoing fashion so that He can continually forgive my sin.
Bonus Question:
1. Having "been
born" into the human race - I cannot as an act of my will be "unborn".
2.
In light of Ephesians 2:5 - 10 I realize I cannot "earn" salvation - it is a
free gift from God.
3. Even as I cannot reverse the "human
birth process" and become "unborn" neither can I
reverse the "spiritual birth process" and become "spiritually unborn".
4.
There simply is not scripture that I can find that reveals that I can "lose" my
salvation and
become "unborn
spiritually". The preponderance of scripture, line upon line, precept upon
precept, using systematic theology, states the opposite.
