Lesson Three
The Lamb of God
Answer Key:
1. The first sin ever committed was
a disobedience to the known will of
God by eating the forbidden fruit.
2. The first sin ever committed was
committed by Eve the first woman.
3. Adam, the husband of Eve became a partaker of her sin by eating of the
forbidden fruit himself.
4. The result of their sin was that they developed a sin nature which sin nature
would then be passed to all future generations.
Ro 3:23 For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God.
From the sin of Adam and Eve all of humanity was born with a sin nature.
5. The first sacrifice offered for sin was accomplished by God himself in the
garden of Eden. The internal evidence suggests that God, transferred the sins of
Adam and Eve to an innocent animal of some kind, killed the animal and used its
skin as clothing for Adam and Eve - thus establishing the blood sacrifice for
sin.
6. That first blood sacrifice pointed forward to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God,
the ultimate blood sacrifice for sinful man.
1.
John 3:16
reveals that God loves
every inhabitant of the world so much that, He, God, provided the only means
possible for sinful mankind to be reconciled to Himself, God. The way in which
He did that was a
Ablood
sacrifice@,
and, that
Ablood
sacrifice@
was the blood sacrifice of His Son. The Lord Jesus Christ, on the Cross at
Calvary. There has never been a time in all of time and eternity when you, as an
individual did not exist in the mind of God. Therefore, that sacrifice of His
Son on Calvary was for you personally, as well is for anyone else who is willing
to confess they are sinners, and in simple childlike faith, believe in the Lord
Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and God=s
sacrifice for the sins of sinful men, and receive Him as their Lord and Savior.
2.
Most Bible scholars are in agreement that, in order to make clothes for
Adam and Eve after they sinned that, He, God, killed at least one animal and use
the skin of that animal to make clothing for them. Yes, He could have created
skin without killing an animal, but given what we know about the blood
sacrifices. It is believed that He transferred the sins of Adam and Eve to the
animal or animals that He killed in order to clothe them, and in doing so,
transferred the sins of Adam and Eve to the animals so that their sins were put
to death in the animal or animals. Further proof of this is that their first son=s,
Abel and Cain both knew of the requirement for
Ablood
sacrifices@
which they could only have learned from their parents.
3.
Hebrews 9:22 makes it very clear, that, without the
Ashedding
of blood@
there can be no remission, no forgiveness of sin (s). There had to be a
Ablood
sacrifice@
for the sins of man, a truth that is further borne out by Leviticus 17:11.
